The questions this site is working through don't have settled answers, and they're better when more people are thinking about them. This is the space for that — not a comments section but something more deliberate: a conversation building slowly, for people who want to think rather than just read.

Working essays, revised in public

Each thread opens with a draft of a position, not a finished one. It will change. Every revision is recorded on the thread's page, with the earlier version kept readable. The conversation shows up as the evolution of the text.

The margins

Responses attach to passages

You can respond to a specific passage, not just the whole. Responses are read and selected — the strongest appear as notes in the margin, credited. A note that moves the text is credited in the revision history too.

An AI-drafted map of the room

Running alongside each thread, and clearly separate: a periodic synthesis of where the responses collectively stand, drafted by AI, edited by me. It appears only once there is enough thinking to map.
